Rack the bike and number ourselves because the line was far too long.

This swim time is probably not accurate, as the transition mat was after quite a long run and I had to walk because on that asphalt after the cold swim I couldn't feel my feet but i kept stepping on rocks that hurt.
What would you do differently?:

Wear a wetsuit. But that wouldn't help my feet would it.

Couldn't run with bike for same reason, feet were hurting.
Then I got taken out and ran into the bushes on the mount by someone who has no idea how to mount their bike.

Not ridden the day before. Had something to eat because I bonked pretty hard.

Ran with no socks that saved some time. Still shit getting out of a super long transition when I can't feel my toes.

Maybe have tape on the bottom of my feet. The ground hurts too much.

The cold, lack of fitness, being fat.

Good race for our club, small and helps us get things done.
Horrible with no TOs out policing the drafting that was going on though. Cheaters.

I have always been an athlete, growing up playing team sports like basketball and soccer. I also ran in a couple of 10K races every year, so I had no reason to worry about running a 5K...right?

After I left the running store, I couldn't stop thinking about the sprint tri and how much of a challenge it would be for me. So instead of joining a gym, I started riding my bike and it felt great.
