Thanks for the heads up on this. I want to get a HM done around this date in prep for my first HIM in the beginning of May (Bassman in South Jersey). I heard good things about the Ceasar Rodney in Wilmington DE too (a couple weeks earlier) but I won't be around for that race.

I will be there.  Entered on the first day and won a 1/2 price entry!

At about mile 9 or so, I was thinking 'This actually isn't so bad.'  Of course, that was just before the rains picked up and made the last couple miles much less pleasant!  I'm generally OK with some rain, some wind or some cold.  It's the combo of all of them that I don't like!

On a nicer day, I'm sure the race would have been great.  Seemed pretty well run, especially for a first time event.

Congrats to all the finishers. 21 people from my tri club did it. I got a text at 7:30 asking if I was coming down to watch. Best decision of the day was to spend the morning indoors drinking coffee. I did volunteer to pick up pizza for the after-party, though.

Yeah, the rain got pretty comical around mile 10 or so.

Ran the Back on my Feet 5 miler the day before and saw the CGI team sweating the weather for Sunday. Conditions looked brutal (from the 75 degree waters of the pool I was swimming in). Kudos to those who raced.

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

Steady is our walk. Ignoring the pain that is radiating from my feet, I continue to place one foot in front of the other. Again I wonder, “Why am I doing this?”

This program should be used for an athlete whose goal is to run a marathon in the 1:30-2:30 range and has a good running base in the past 8-12 weeks.

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.

My training was taking off. I had never felt stronger. I was making bigger strides than I ever had. I was stronger and faster than I had imagined myself ever being.
