The big difference is 10 Speed vs 11 for the 2014. The new Ultegra is amazing, so I would say if you have a choice go with the 2014

I have a 2013 with DA and like it.. the 2014 also adds the Sitero, a $180 upgrade for me, I thought they also got the fuelcell, $75 upgrade from 2013.

I'd say that the 2014 expert weighs almost 1 pound more with this equipment setup. Mine was 20.2 lbs out of the box, the sitero is 65 gm heavier than the romin, the Ultegra adds about 150 to 200 gm, the fuelcell adds another 100 gm, we're not supposed to be concerned with weight of bikes, but... hills do exist.

I've upgraded to a Sram red cassette, zipp vuka extensions, s works 17 degree stem, titanium skewer, sram red 165mm cranks and sram 1090 chain, and it weighs about 19.5 with stock wheels, about 18.9 with a lighter aero wheelset.

Anways, the SHIV is an awesome bike, very fast.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
