Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4 a.m. to eat and get going, we had to check out then!! They wouldn't let us come back!!
Event warmup:

Warm-up was really nothing but I did go test the water and make sure my bike was ready to go!
Swim
  • 39m
  • 2100 yards
  • 01m 52s / 100 yards
Comments:

I thought that the swim was hard, there was a lot of turning and the wind picked up which caused for some tought swimming. Then I made the turn and started to pick up the pace and that is when the pain came! I got a bad calf cramp.. It was bad.. So I rolled over and floated on my back and tried to get it to come out and it started to feel better. After that I just wanted to be done!
What would you do differently?:

Work in more open water...
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transitions went well. Slow but I didn't care I just wanted to make sure I was feeling good!
What would you do differently?:

NA
Bike
  • 3h 15m
  • 56 miles
  • 17.23 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike was good, but it had some tought areas! I felt that my nutrition was right on!! The only other thing that I would change if I could would have been the wind. Other then that I had such a great ride!! I had two bottles of infinit nutrition and then I had a small bar with a lot of water. No stomach issues at all!!!
What would you do differently?:

NA other then more speed!!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 3h 01m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 13m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

Well I took off running first and then went on a run walk, because my foot was starting to hurt. I then made sure I was getting enough to drink and water on me! It was a nice run, but there was one stretch that was HOT!! I did a walk run with one guy he then got sick, so I just kept going and then at the last three miles I walked with a guy that will be doing Ironman WI and he was doing well so we talked and that sure helped! I ran in and had so much fun!! I know it was slow and I know I could have done better because I did feel well, but I sure had fun!!
What would you do differently?:

NA (maybe run more and work on my running)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and stretched! Went to go find another triathlete on the course to cheer him on!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My foot, but not to bad!

Event comments:

I thought this was a very fun race!! The bike course had some rough areas but it was fun. I thought the volunteers did great. One of the triathletes that I came up with came in later when there was not very many people left and all of the volunteers came out to cheer him on and it was so cool to see. I was just so happy for him, and those who did the volunteering none of this could have happened with out them.

Well done!
I have to agree with you the volunteers made it all worthwhile.
The water stop at mile 3 on the run was wonderful. Wether they were official or not.
