Didn't find anything on the search: Does anyone have hotel advice for Augusta? 9 months away and most places already making you pay full deposit. Looking for somewhere nice enough, easy to get where I need to on race day/for registration. Thanks!

Baymont Inn and Suites was great. It was about 5 miles away from bike transition and had a free buffet. Staff was great and they gave me a Suite for booking early.

I stayed about 15-20 minutes away at a Comfort Inn & Suites near Ft Gordon. Did the job, however, if you're looking for convenience book into the host hotel. I decided to stay an extra night after the race and got into the host hotel at the race rate. My gf is racing it this year and has already booked the host hotel. It's alot more expensive, but really is a breeze getting around. If i was on my own I may book on the outskirts as I'm a bit cheaper. Good luck.

Appreciate the Baymont tip! They are the only close hotel I could get a military rate.

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
