Subject: Lap pool with decent hours?
Anyone know of any natatoriums and/or lap pools around the mid-cities area of DFW with decent hours? I'm looking for something that has adult lap swim times between 5PM - 10PM and something that stays open more than an hour. I've looked at Keller, Southlake, & Grapevine but didn't see hours that fit the window I'm looking for. Thanks!

I swim at the 24 hour fitness in southlake. It's not great but definitely convenient with regard to time. I've also heard of a new community center with a pool in grapevine but I have not confirmed it yet. You'd probably need to be a resident.

I'm also a 24 hr fitness guy. I spend most of the day in the car, which is why I like the fact that I can run into the nearest 24 hr to get my swim in. I think I've been in just about every 24 hr pool in the metroplex.

I would suggest staying away from the one in Bedford though...BAAAAAAD.

Did you look at the Carrollton/Farmers Branch natatorium?

Try the YMCA

I second the YMCA. We have a family membership for $101 a month using the downtown Dallas YMCA as our home YMCA, which is a little more expensive. They are open in the evenings although not as late as other "gyms".

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

Provided one was proficient in setting up the different functions of the Lap Track, I think that a short-course triathlete would benefit most from this, since it only records splits up to 50 laps.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
