Subject: heart rate calculation
Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and am starting to train for Ironman Louisville 2014. I am torn over how to calculate my heart rate effort percentages. I have seen a bunch of formulas and they all seem to end up in different places. I want to make sure I'm not pushing too hard or going too easy in my training program. I was using the Karvonen formula but would appreciate any input. My data: Resting Heart Rate = 54 Age=33 Max Heart Rate - 182 (running)

Yesterday I found that my heart rate was maxed at 95% and averaged 80% for the bike and run with no breathing problems. However, I just couldn't seem to get more out of my legs. Thoughts?

Most of us have gone up and down in weight so often that we have lost count. What we are looking for is a steady loss of weight which often is not found.
