I'm not even at my in-laws yet and I'm already preparing for ways to escape! Do you know of a place to swim, preferably a master's group on Monday mornings? I see Lyme Aquatics but they only swim t/th mornings. Thanks!

Branford YMCA is your best bet.

Thanks. I called the Y and they said I could only swim if I came with a member, that they don't have a drop in fee. If I can't find anything else I may just hang out outside the building and ask someone to be my friend!

Not sure if that's necessarily true. I just got back from there less than a half hour ago. I am not a member but I had a guest pass. They said that without the pass it would be $10 per day. They didnt mention being with a member??

Your idea of hanging outside is not a bad one..... The facility is very nice.

I first decided I was going to "do" a triathlon in 1994. It wasn't until 13 years later, in 2007 that I actually did. Why did it take me 13 years to get to the starting line? The swim!

Many people in the triathlon world think they need to just emulate Ian Thorpe to have a faster time, or have a similar stroke to Michael Phelps to cruise through the swim. Unfortunately...
