Subject: Bontrager Node 1.1 a viable head unit?

I'm going to dump my old Cateye wireless CPU and use a Garmin GSC10 speed/cadence sensor so that I can use the ANT+ for PC interfacing while on the trainer. 

However for a simple head unit while on the road, is the Bontrager Node 1.1 a viable head unit?  Any other simple head units I should look at?  I have to keep it "cheap" as I'm a bit over budget for my new bike build and my wife is not separating that project with this project!

Bump as I am very interested in Ant+ head units that are moderately priced.

I just replaced a node 1.1 with a garmin 500 on a bike and left the bontrager speed/cadence sensor instead of replacing it with the garmin one that came with the unit.  The garmin picks up the bontrager sensor with no problem.  I can't imagine it wouldn't work in the other direction.

My concern isn't whether it would work with the Garmin S/C but if the Node 1.1 is a good piece or some other cheap ANT+ head unit should be looked at instead.  I don't see many used out there so that might be a good thing or maybe they just came out.

I have one on 3 different bikes......no complaints.

The node should do the job.  But at $70...I'd simply go over budget with an Edge 500 (which runs less than $200 now) and ask for forgiveness later. 

My Edge 500 is over 3 years old now, with over 1000 hours of use.  I had a Cateye before, and it broke after about a year.  I don't know about the durability of the Node.
