Has anyone heard of or is registered for this Iron Distance race in Kentucky?

Being from this midwest, this could be a good alternative to IM Wisconsin. I'd be interested in hearing how the race goes.

Never heard of it, but it looks like a beautiful place.  250 bucks and no time cutoff are appealing as well.

I'm planning on doing the 1/2 distance. I live in Evansville, IN and the bike portion will be on the trace in land between the lakes. Beautiful area! Long rolling hills. I had to sign up, even though I'm only moderately prepared, because this would be a great option for us midwesterners!! Hope many people from the area sign up and make this race a go for future years.

Also, I emailed the director and if this year goes ok, they are going to add aquabike events for next year. Sounds like they are really trying to make a go of it with plans for the future.

I would love to do this race next year. My husband's family lives in Kentucky; it would be great to mix travel to a race with visiting family. The course looks beautiful.
