Pre-race routine:

Early wake up to catch the bus from my hotel to the race start. Met up with some folks from the Facebook Dopey Challenge group and hung out with them while waiting for the start.
Event warmup:

Walked from the bus to the starting corral, about a half-mile. Lots of standing around.

Comments:

There was a strange vibe to this 'race'. It's billed as a fun run, and people who weren't running the Dopey Challenge weren't timed. The rest of us had chipped bibs so we got an official time, but no ranking.

Out of the 10K people running, a little under 7K were Dopey runners. So the post-race vibe was more of a "done, next" feel than that of a typical race. All in all it was a fun race experience. Because I was running Dopey and still had 46 some-odd miles left to run that weekend, I deliberately slowed way down on my pace and stopped for a character photo with Dopey at the halfway point. After a 2.5 week taper though, I was ready to keep running when I finished since I felt like I hadn't even warmed up.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I had a lot of running left in front of me, so being conservative was necessary. Couldn't risk fatigue or injury.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked through the finish chute, drank a powerade and ate a banana, then casually headed to the bus back to the hotel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The prospect of running a 10K, 13.1, and 26.2 in the next three days.

Event comments:

Post race vibe was weird. Good race otherwise.
