I wasn't able to make the sign up for this year's race when registration was open.   Chattanooga is just about two hours up the road from me. That's too close to do nothing so I signed up a volunteer today.    I volunteered to lifeguard for the duration of the swim and then work at a bike aid station during the afternoon.    Gonna make a long weekend of it and have fun.      And I definitely will NOT miss registration in 2015.

I'm the co-captain of the men's changing tent. I'm sure I'll be roped into lots of other tasks before it's all said and done. It's going to be fun!

I won't be in the men's changing tent all day, so you might run into me. I'll be the guy wearing the volunteer t-shirt.

Chattanooga is one of my favorite cities. It really has its act together as far as I can tell. Great venue for Ironman.

Thanks for volunteering.  If I end up in the men's changing tent please redirect me.  I'll be headed down on on the 21st so I'll get some extra time to really get to see the area.  YAY!

Great that you're volunteering. I think the changing room tent volunteers are generally under-appreciated. I'll always remember the volunteer who put my bike shoes on at IMCdA when my hands were numb from the cold water. Volunteers make they event what it is - you guys rock!

Iron distance racing depends on the three pillars of pacing, nutrition and mental outlook. Training these three areas can significantly improve your race.

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
