Subject: Barry P Run Calulator?
Does anyone know where I can find the Barry P Run Calculator? I spent an hour looking for it over at ST, but could only find the articles, not the actual programable calculator. Thanks.

I am unaware of one.  If you are looking for paces, try McMillan's (http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/index.php/calcUsage/calculate).

You're looking for the mcmillan run calculator. BarryP doesn't have one.

I think the others are correct BarryP does not have one. However if you are looking to figure out weekly mileage, short, medium and long runs the formula is pretty simple:

Take weekly mileage and divide that by 10. That is the distance of your short run. for for demo purposes, lets say you are starting the program at a 20 mile week.

20/10 = 2 Your short run is two miles long. Do this 3 times a week

Your medium run is 2 x your short run.. so your medium run is 4 miles.. do this twcie a week

Your long run is 3 x your short run so your long run is 6 miles.. do this once a week.

When you are ready you add 10% on to the weekly mileage and repeat the formula... so to up your mileage by 10% = 22 miles.. Your short run is now 2.2 miles and so on and so on...

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replys.

I know at sometime someone made one because I have a prinoutout I made about 6 months ago-- it even has Barry P Run Calculator across the top. I entered in my current weekly mileage and it would give me the distances for 3 short, 2 medium, and 1 long run each week in a spreadsheet-type format. But, now that I think of it, it might have been someone else who made their own Barry P Calculator.

Thanks again.

Thanks, it does help. I'll just plug in the numbers.

Mcmillian is pretty good, but the Jack Daniel's calculator is a bit better IMO. It gives more specific ranges for training paces. I just started Barry P and he recs either calc.

I just made this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Auux4Zwx019ydElicDctSFJ...

It is view only, so try to export it into excell or any other editor, then you can change the yellow number and it'll tell you the distances in the red boxes.

Knocking the dust off this one.  Typically, how long is phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3?  Starting Oct 5th, I have a marathon 22 weeks out (March 5th).  Just wondering how I should bust it up.  Something like... 12 weeks phase 1. 4 weeks phase 2.  4 weeks phase 3 and 2 week taper.
