Thanks for posting this. It does look like a good course all around. I'm doing Vineman this year but will watch to see how this one goes as its got good potential!

Looks like an awesome venue.  I'll have to talk to my wife about this one.

Wow. I'm looking for a (non-filled) late season IM. This one looks pretty cool. I was hoping for a tad later in the year than this, but it may do.

Capitola is a great little town. That should be a nice venue. Swim will be great. I'll have to have a look at the bike course. Should be pretty fun. Can get windy will be only issue.

I signed up! Not excited about the water temps in September. Website says low 60s but I heard it will more likely be in upper 50s. But otherwise looks like its going to be fun!

I'd say the 50's is more likely. I've done Pacific Grove the last 2 years in September and it is about 35 miles from Capitola. Water temps were mid-50's both times. Once you get over the initial shock it isn't so bad, just make sure you spend at least 5 minutes in the water acclimating just before the start. And resign yourself to the fact that the big gulp of water you let down the front of the wetsuit when you get in is really going to take your breath away.
