On a real hill, you'll spin out regardless of gearing. Clearly, you've never ridden in Florida. Even the tallest overpass (Miami Mountain in Key Biscayne) will only yield speeds in the low 40s. Still not spin-out worthy. As grueling as many claim Sugarloaf (in Clearmont AKA north west of Disney) to be, the downhill only lasts a few seconds. Again, no spin-out. So, no, there is no reason to coast in Florida. Ever. |
