Got the email today the 2014 QC Triathlon is sold out but you can still get on a waiting list. Is anyone else signed up for this one?

Hi Bill,

Not doing QC, but I always try to respond to the Iowa posts :)

Is "twofifteen" your oly time?

I was on the wait list last year for QC and I was worried I wasn't going to get in, so I signed up for Accel in Waterloo.  I ended up getting in to QC afterall, but I really liked the Accel race, so I'm doing that again this year.

Myself, my brother-in-law, and a high school buddy of ours are all in for QC. This will be my third year there and I still haven't found a (sprint) race that is better organized than this one.

Switch, you are doing the Olympic in Waterloo, right, not the sprint? I haven't signed up yet. Registered for D2D and now wondering if I should miss 2 of my daughter's softball tournament AMs in a row. She is 11 and pitches. I am still debating. Hope it doesn' t sell out in the meantime. We will see how recovery goes and how long until I can get OUTSIDE on my bike.

Yes, the oly.  I won the the entry at our tri team auction.

I'm doing D2D as well, but I'm not really racing it, more of just a fun training run.

I don't think Accel will sell out.  I bet it's open until the last minute.  Racing D2D and racing Accel would be big back-to-back weekends.

Accel was my second outside ride last year (pigman Sprint being my first)--haha!  I survived, but my bike split was pretty sad :) And I have a feeling it's going to be a while before any of us get good outside ride time this year :(

Well, you say "racing" but I am guessing my D2D time will still only be in the 1:45 range after this surgery unless being able to breathe changes
my running and creates some sort of miracle. This winter has been SLOW GOING. I feel really good right now (hence running around and checking messages in the middle of night- 2:37 AM). I think I am going through caffeine withdrawal and haven't even started my next pack of "roids" yet.
I think I will be more apt to "race" at D2D with my group and then go easier at Accel only because there's about 10 of us going to D2D.
Good luck to you!!

One of my favorite races of the year.  Looking forward to it.  Eric puts on a hellova race.

Not sure of the temp but you can definitely swim without a wetsuit.
