Subject: Heart Rate Monitor with rechargable batteries? Is there such a thing? I keep having issues with my heart rate monitor. Both the transmitter (on the chest strap ) and the receiver (on the wrist watch ) require batteries, and I've replaced them once. But when I get batteries in Vietnam, particularly for stuff like this that's not common as well as watches. cameras, etc, the batteries seem to have been sitting around in the shop, often without benefit of air con or humidity control, for a very long time, and have a very short life. Taking spare batteries on the plane can be an issue due to security. I replaced the transmitter batteries 3 weeks ago, and already they are low and it's malfunctioning periodically. (The first pair, which came with the HRM lasted over two years. ) I don't necessarily need anything with GPS capability as I already have a Garmin (without a HRM ) but might consider it. Would prefer to stay low-budget, though. Any suggestions? Heading to Singapore soon so I'll have a pretty good selection there; otherwise will just take the current one and try to replace the battery there. |
