Jamestown and Rev3 are a week apart from each other in June.  Shared swim location.  Jamestown has the bike and run kind of off the beaten path, long history with Setup Events.  Rev3 rides up to the colonial parts and runs around my grad school.  Anyone that has done both races want to weigh in on my pro/con list to pick a summer olympic??  Might just go with the cheaper one ;-)

Jamestown is $90 and Rev3 is $160.  Hmmmmmm....that's a REALLY hard sell.

I have done both, but the year I did Jamestown they had to cancel the swim of thunderstorms.  I like nth events and venues.   But I had a terrific time at Rev 3 last year and only an average time at Jamestown so I went with Rev3.

$70 worth of fun?  Rev3 is a week later, which is a plus for getting in and swimming.

I guess because I have done Set Up's course so many times I preferred to go back to  Rev 3 cause they redid the course from last year (NO JOLLY POND RD).  Is it $70 worth of fun?  Not really.  But I enjoyed it more....Plus it was way cool to be on the course where there is a pro field and see them screaming by from the HIM bike course or how fast they move on the run ....

Rev3's are great, but as you alluded to they are expensive unless you sign up the day after the race.

I think the REV3 course is a lot more fun then the Jamestown course. Racing REV3 again this year.
