Subject: MLB Opening Day!

For all the baseball fans out there, Opening Day has arrived.  The boys of summer are heading for the diamond for the first games today (mostly except for some schedule jumpers out in California/Australia). I always enjoy baseball on the radio when I am driving or working in the shop.  It is convenient for me that just as college basketball ends, baseball starts.

I hope the Braves do well this year.  Go Braves.

Who's your team?  Who's going to take it all this year?

I'm sticking with my Rays again this year, although I am a bit concerned they are such a popular pick among the talking heads.

Although my heart is with the Cubs, I'm afraid they're destined for another last place finish. I think the White sox will be an interesting team this year but lack pitching depth. I like the Kansas City Royals to make the playoffs after a long absence and maybe even win the AL. I doubt it will be as easy for the Dodgers as a lot of people are currently calling. Yankees I don't see going anywhere. Red Sox won't repeat. It could be the year of the small market teams come October.

Red Sox fan since I could say "wicked". It's going to be tough defending the tile for the 3rd time in the last 10 years, but I think the boys can do it. Actually, as any typical Sox fan I'm paranoid they won't win a single game and God is going to unleash some serious wrath on all just for sneaking away with the WS trophy last year. They've got depth, just not sure how good the depth is. As always, just beat the Yankees and roll the dice from there

For the season I'd say it's Sox, Rays, Tigers and Rangers for the AL and Cards, Dodgers and I really don't know who to come out of the east. Atlanta would be my first guess but they've already got smoked by injuries. Philly? St Louis looks primed, Dodgers I don't care for but not sure how the rest of the division will stack up.

I'd love to see the Pirates do well again in the NL and maybe the Royals or Indians in the AL.

Oh, and like any baseball fan, I'd like to see the Marlins implode. Stadium. Team. Everything. Poof.

Dude.  I'm a Sox fan and I KNOW we are going to suck this year.  Not only do we lack pitching depth, the rest of the squad is ridiculously young, inexperienced and couldn't hit a ball if it were the size of a water melon.  I've watched them in pre-season and do NOT have high hopes.

The Cardonals have enough pitching that they could loan you one or two.

Off to a good start! Best of luck, I loved Petco stadium. Went there quite a few years back (2006 I guess) to see Pedro pitching for the Mets.

Hearing baseball on the radio will always make me smile.  Gotta love it.  I am a lifelong Brewer fan and still am even though Ryan Braun is a lying, cheating, steroid junky.  I'm just hoping they can be competitive this year, but doubt they will make the playoffs.  We shall - everyone is a playoff contender today!

Brewers are leading the Braves 2-0 in the fourth.  Maybe, the Briewer are going to do ok.  Braves are starting off in hole with season-ending injuries to two starting pitchers.

About the same, but I think that the Colorado ownership may actually be worse.

Also, my wife is from Ankeny, my Father in Law now has a farm in Polk City.

Grew up outside of Baltimore and have always been a die hard O's fan. Have been living in Maine since 2000 so it's been hard with the sox fans around.
