Subject: March 2014 Totals :)
Greetings everyone!

It's a recovery day for me so my March workouts have been completed, yay! Pretty solid volume and build from February. I have about another month of base training then I start to build a bit more to peak before Vineman 70.3.

Swim: 7h 58m 16s - 21600 Yd
Bike: 18h 50m 52s - 347.4 Mi
Run: 11h 52m 23s - 76.33 Mi

I'm still being very careful about building up my run volume and fitness and so far so good. I've been adding strides after a short run once a week and maintaining my strength training routine at least 4x/week. I've been injury free this month. Whew! :D

How did you guys do?

=^.^=

Swim: 2h 10m - 5300 Yd

Bike: 15h 10m - 239 Mi

Run: 12h 01m 45s - 70.05 Mi

Strength- 1 hour

Swim numbers are low because I just started with a Masters Team so they will be on the rise for April. Decent numbers for me so far but no real way to tell if my bike miles are accurate since everything has been done on the trainer.

March totals.

Swim: 45000 m in the pool.
Bike: 350 miles - all on the trainer.
Run: 2 miles maybe..

I've been suffering from an Achilles heel spur and I'm laying off the run right now. I have to figure out what my next step (no pun) is with orthotics, gait analysis etc..
So, it's been heavy swim and getting ready for the outside on the bike.

Plus yoga and strength 2 or 3 times a week.

After taking way too much time away from swimming and running, I finally started to get back into the swing of things.

Swim: 6 hrs 22 min -- 14,450 yds
Bike: 15 hrs 33 min -- 264 mi (all but 26 miles on the trainer)
Run: 5 hrs 2 min -- 33.6 mi.

I'm pretty happy with my swim volume but my running needs some help.

Swim: 13h 03m 34s -- 46,826 meters (one OWS)

Bike: 26h 50m 48s -- 304 miles (and countless hours on the trainer)

Run: 19h 46m 01s -- 121.73 miles (first time going over 100 miles in a month and I exceeded that by a decent amount!!  Very excited about this!!)

A couple hard weeks in April, a couple slightly easier weeks, and then St. George 70.3 in early May.  Eeek!!

Third solid month in a row for me.  Two more, then race season is ON, baby!

Swim: 14h 46m 39s - 46500 Yd

Bike: 20h 10m 14s - 355.34 Mi

Run: 18h 45m 37s - 137.84 Mi

Had hoped for a bit more bike mileage, but just couldn't stand the trainer anymore (and for some reason, winter hasn't "tagged out" just yet).  April will be more about the bike than the run, although I'm nervous about just running steadily for a month (have to tamp down the intensity/intervals for a few weeks, as a hammy is solidly tweaked).

Salty - what's with the bike focus?

Nicole, you are going to be SO ready for that race!!

Matt

ETA - just looked on Strava and this was actually my highest "hours" month yet.  A bit worried that a new job is going to significantly impact that going forward...

Pretty good month considering the weather has been absolutely wretched!  Supposed to get another run in today but freezing rain and winds of 60-80 km/hr are making that unlikely.

March's totals
Swim: 10h 43m - 36300 M
Bike: 15h 26m 47s - 464.83 KM
Run: 21h 18m 60s - 248.77 KM

Swim - 10:20 34,469 yds (mix of scy and scm swims to create the odd yardage)

Bike - 20:40 408.2 miles (some trainer, some outdoors)

Run - 9:04 75.4 miles

Run volume feels low, but that's probably due to moving away from marathon training, when I was used to clocking 40 mile weeks often.  Bike mileage will go up as I stop having to do rides on the trainer.

If I poured all my training time into just swimming I would have not met your son's yardage.  That's pretty crazy.

He was in Az. for a week training so his swim yards were actually down about 10,000.  And yeah, crazy......I couldn't even come close at any time in my life.  BUT....when you're doing your 100's on 1:05 - 1:10 (and some on :55 - 1:00) the yardage really piles up.  Swim kids, all of them, are amazing to me.

Bike: 872 miles

Run: 42 miles

Getting a handle on some things with swimming that should help going forward. Experimented some at times. Bike was all trainer. Some running was outside.

Dude....that's strong work....if I did 872 miles on a trainer I'd have to remove all sharp objects from my house.

How many hours do you figure you put in for the swim and bike totals?
