Subject: Any Tri Shoes in wide, "E" width?
I am looking for a good carbon soled tri bike shoe that comes in a men's "E" or "Wide" width. I have found a couple of road shoes from Shimano that are available in wides, but nothing in a tri style shoe. I'd rather have the quick velcro release straps vs the ratchet style strap on most road shoes.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!

If you have the opportunity, try on a pair of Loui Garneau Tri Lite shoes. I have a wide foot and recently took a shot in the dark and bought a pair on ebay. I wear a size 13 and ordered size 48. They have a very wide toe box and are roomy. As far as the length, I feel the run a half size small. My toes are right on the edge of the shoe. My feet do not swell when I ride so it has not yet caused any discomfort. I do not wear socks with these shoes and have not gotten any blisters. They are not much fun to walk in but are comfortable for riding. They retail for $179.99 but you can find them for $80 or less if you do a little shopping.

Vittoria makes a great shoe with the full size range. Their standard shoe is a bit on the wide side already but you can request an E.

They have a couple different tri models as well.

Good luck!

I've also had good luck with both Louis Garneau bike and tri shoes.  The toe box is a bit wider than some other brands I've tried.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm looking into the Louis Garneau Tri-Lites. Found them for $115 with free shipping...seems like a pretty good deal.

This will also be my first pair of carbon bike shoes...so I'm excited to see what the difference is!

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.
