Pre-race routine:

Got up and ate breakfast pretty much just like any other day. Really excited this morning because this is my first Tri. Got a early start went to check in and get my bib # ( then back to the car for my ID) Back and got my bi and timing chip and then on to be marked. Finally on to set up my transition area. Went back to the pool area to wait for the start and realized I forgot to put up my sunglasses in the transition area. Soooo back to the bike and drop off my sunglasses. Finally think I have everything done sit and watch the Mini sprinters start.

I had a great time here this was a well organized race. Very fun for my first tri can't wait till the next one. Getting 3rd in my AG was really nice although the field was not that large. I think that I'm totally hooked

When I told my husband that I planned to work toward completing a sprint triathlon, he smiled and was supportive, but a bit disbelieving.

The challenge? The accomplishment? I want to do this because it is an opportunity to live life. The event is an indoor sprint triathlon. I get to experience the challenge on a safer scale.

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!

It’s a challenge to push yourself a little harder and a little further. Be proud of every workout that is accomplished and every step-even the baby ones-that you take on this course to the finishline.
