Ugh! Nice mini-tri there! Not sure if the "fourth" was with me, but the heat (high nearly 40) and the wildlife were.....

Wild 64 km bike shop MTB ride (2:37--some was on roads, paved and otherwise, some around rubber plantations and rice paddies), that included a km. or so of being chased by a mid-sized baby buffalo (kid you not)--not on a farm but a pretty major street in town. No idea where it came from, but there it was, running down the street in total panic, while a city bus honked at it. Then it jumped the green strip and started running about 10m behind my bike. Time for a little "race pace acceleration". I rode like hell all the way to the ferry crossing 3 km down the road and left it far behind.

Heart rate final getting back to normal and on a nice path through the fields when I then nearly hit a very long snake.

This was supposed to be a physical/mental break from actual training after a peak week, but got a bit more than I bargained for! 30 minutes of strength training in sane, air-con gym tonight. No buffalo or snakes.

Today is the Grand Geezerette's third birthday. The Fourth is strong in this one. We had her party last weekend when we were in São Paulo.Today is absolutely gorgeous in Atlanta. I shall run where the people are: Piedmont Park and Eastside Trail.

Sports massage this morning (that's training, right?!  It's an option under "Sports" in the BT training log...), 1.5 hr. yard work this afternoon, heading out for a 45 min ride shortly.  It's about 80*.  Considering it was 40* this time last weekend, I'll take it!

CONGRATS!!! That is awesome!
BUT, seeing all your training these past few months, I'm not surprised...you put in the hard work, you get the rewards!! Congrats!

Did an Olympic Tri this morning. Honestly almost didn't go since I got to bed last night around 11:30 (darn social work event for DH company). Obviously staying out very late, wearing heels, drinking wine and bowling isn't the most ideal night before a race activity.

But, managed to pull through and got 6th in my AG...still chasing that top 3 - sigh! Need to work on my swim!

Had a nice nap and now trying to write a RR and hanging out with the kids.

Have a great day all - may the Fourth be with you! :-)

Today was a good day for a birthday -- #52 for me. After doing a 65-mile ride / 6-mile run brick yesterday, I took it easy today with a 1-hour spin. Maybe next year I'll get more ambitious... ;-)

Ran the IM70.3 Raleigh run course....starting at 5:30am. Nice to see the sun rise during the run. Then hours upon hours of yardwork.

The 4th was not with me...

A bike crash on the 3rd ended my work out streak at 58 days.

Since "Star Wars Day" happens to be my birthday, and Sunday happens to be a rest day for me...

Well... it wasn't pretty... John Pinette would have been proud of me...
