Comments:

Went out fast through mile 16 then switched to competing with other runners for the rest of the race. Never got passed in the second half but passed a ton of people. (Including the 3rd place runner at mile 23)

I will not be disappointed by this race. It was my 4th fastest marathon ever and I beat my CR by 6:32. AND I AM on the podium for the second time this year in a marathon.
What would you do differently?:

Slow up the pace early if the race includes a HOT finish. (The last 4 miles got really hot)
Post race
Warm down:

Waiting for results to get certified so I could get my hardware and walk home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Less than optimal pacing and finicky weather reports. (Report said high of 62 but it hit 75 with high humidity and bright sun at the finish)

Event comments:

I am a legacy runner and will continue to run it every year.

Thanks Chris :D

As it turns out, the first place finisher (Overall) was DQ'd so I moved up 1 place. (Now 64 overall out of 2216)

NOTE TO SELF: Never take water from anywhere outside of an Aid Station AND certainly don't let anyone pace you on a bike.

The great news is that Stephen Shay, (Ryan Shay's Brother) bagged the WIN on the day that would have been Ryan's Birthday :D

After a hard workout, I really like having a Coke or Pepsi. How bad is this for recovery and for my health? Should I stop drinking orange juice because it is loaded with (fattening) carbs and sugar?

The toll of fate strikes as those with orange swim caps are beckoned to begin the journey. Ahhh, nothing like the feel of ice cold water seeping in your wetsuit to wake you up. GO!
