Total Time = 51m 9s
Overall Rank = 15/38
Age Group = M 30-34
Age Group Rank = 12/22
Pre-race routine:

I left work a little early and was able to be the second person there, right after Mark of course. I ate a little food and then started to set up my stuff.
Event warmup:

Ran with Julia at an easy Zone 2 effort. Legs felt pretty good but my lungs felt restricted.

Swim
  • 25m 38s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

The warm up helped but my arms felt tight and weak for most of the swim. This was the first time that I actually felt like drafting helped me.
What would you do differently?:

Draft in all my races!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Time is included in the swim time.
Run
  • 25m 30s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

I kept it nice and easy for the first half and then kicked it in for the second half.
What would you do differently?:

If it wasn't for the Half this weekend I would halv given it all I had on the run. As it was I practiced pacing and cadence to mentally prepare for the half. All in all, my legs felt really good and again my chest felt restricted.
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretching and BEER!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The knowledge that I will need everything that I have for the race on Sunday.

Event comments:

As always this is a fun race for a Wednesday evening. The beer and conversation afterwards is great as well.

Was that a run PR for you? Couldn't remember if you said it was or not. If so, that's gotta feel pretty good, especially knowing you held some back.

I keep forgetting to mention that stuff. The run and the swim were a PR for me. I've run and swam faster before but not in a race and not back to back, it was a good day!

Nice swim!  I was just hoping to stay on your feet for the swim.  I was for about 10 yards!  Nice effort on the return trip on the run as well!
