Where's your hot tub?

Below is my setup. I have a ceiling fan right over my bike and keep the window open, at least when it's cold.

There's no hot tub, it's a damn PAIN CAVE!!

It's easy for us because the whole family uses the room.  Our kids still at home are 16, 14, and 14, and my wife also works out daily (and thinks triathlon is silly).  Some people have an extra family room.....we have a work out room.  I can't tell you how many hours we've spent in there as a family, working out or having a Wii bowling tournament, or whatever.  We raised our kids at the YMCA, having a room in our house to exercise was just a natural extension......it's what we do.  I can't think of a better way to raise kids.  We have, hopefully, instilled a lifelong passion in our children.

This is about as close to a cave I will train in.  Then when you come out of the cave...it kind of looks like this.

Diamondhead, if I'm not mistaken.

Hell, it's been 25 years since I lived there.

Yup.  View from Round Top Drive after climbing up Tantalus Drive (pictured with the cave like tree cover).  Lots of pain and suffering on that road...perfect place to do climbing intervals.

Unfortunately I have to use the garage and it makes the workouts tough during the summer warmth/humidity (FL). I have a 3rd box fan that sits behind me. I find it useful to keep the state bird mosquito's off my back! I'm seriously thinking about getting a small portable AC unit to blow cold air towards me.  My wife thinks I'm nuts to do that but with the number of cyclist that are hit on the roads around here she prefers that I WO in the garage.

Suggestions: fan(s), floor mat, KK fluid trainer (bulletproof & check craigslist), Music player/TV & or PC.

Nothing flash or fancy for me but it does the job. It's in the smallest room in the house. No fan or AC.

I have had my KK for 2 years it's never skipped a beat, but no power training for me.

Sob....I knew Tantalus as soon as I saw it! My personal "pain cave" too for a few years. Yes, it's scenic, but one tough climb on bike/run. Making a pilgrimage this summer. Sure beats my current "cave"--will try to post a pic once I figure out the logistics. My big issue is keeping cool--the AC just can't keep up with the heat. I doubt it ever gets below 80 degrees in my living room, outside of January.

I see a rear wheel magnetic, virtual power is possible using the speed reading from your computer. I did it for years using a spreadsheet I made for the Jorge/BT winter cycling program.

As the fog cleared, the buoy that I first saw earlier in the morning was just the first marker in a very long line of buoys that stretched across the lake like a runway for a 747 jetliner.

I have a very annoying pain under my knee cap. It does not hurt when I run or ride. It hurts a lot when I swim and when I walk up or down stairs. The pain is a searing pain. Help!
