Event comments:

Other than going a little overboard with the marking (hands, arms, calves) it was a really nice event. Definitely looking forward to doing it again -- great family atmosphere and everyone was having fun.

Good to hear a report from this tri!
I'm just getting into Tris (and running/biking/swimming all together!) I plan on doing a 5k in the fall and hopefully a triathlon next spring. Would this be a good one to start with? I've also heard about the Cincinnati Triathlon, have you done that one?

Also, do you train anywhere specific? Know of any open water swimming places or triathletes clubs?

Did this one as well and agree with all of the above.

Should of put myself in a better "seed" as I was constantly stuck behind big groups of slow people

I went down to the beach the day before to scout out the course, and it was glorious...the sun was out, the sea was as smooth as glass, and only a hint of a breeze was blowing. “Perfect,” I thought.
