So I got a few small tears in my Vortex 4 wetsuit at KS 70.3 and was wondering what people use to seal/repair their suits. Nothing went through the whole suit just the outer layer of neoprene.

I use a neoprene glue (black), purchased from Elite Cycles. The repair is very easy and uTube has some vidieos on suit repair.

Basically you put the glue on both sides of the tear, wait till the surface has dried, then stick the two sides together.

I had one tear two years ago that required some dental floss to be sewn into the suit after gluing, with another coat of glue over the floss, and it hasnt failed yet.

Give Elite a call before you stop in they usually only carry 2-3 cans. It cost about $15.

I use wetsuit cement, but it is a BIOTCH to get it on there correctly without looking like poop.

I'm doing my first tri Saturday. It starts at 7 AM and the forecast is calling for a high of 82 (air temp). Do I need to rush out and get a wetsuit?

We will take a peek into the lowly saddlebag to see what needs to be in there in case of emergency. Much of this may be common sense, some might surprise you, and some are simply just my opinion.
