Comments:

The first buoy detached before I got there and we ended up chasing it quite a bit. Apparently the 2nd turn buoy also detached and the kayakers had no idea what to do. Basically the kayakers ended up all over the place and about 15 - 20 of us had to dodge them. I missed the second buoy which I still swear was tied to a kayaker and was moving. I think I did close to 700 yards instead of 400yds

Comments:

This was really a great course! The sand and gravel at the turn around made me a bit nervous but otherwise good!
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

T2 was a little slow because a guy lost his footing and crashed in front of me on the way to T2.
What would you do differently?:

Get past that guy before he fell!

Comments:

The course was good. I realized that my ankle injury is more and I need to get it looked at!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Stupid buoys!

Event comments:

I really enjoyed this course. I would absolutely do it again. The organizers usually put on a fantastic race! Hopefully they can get their buoy situation figured out!

Will sustained exercise at or near maximum heart rate increase the risk of heart damage, or heart failure. Is the cardiac muscle also subject to strain and damage as other muscles?

The crux of rehab was so simple: “Eat and exercise like your life depended on it.” It seemed to take all the guesswork out of the picture and make things that much easier for me.
