Since usually you only hear about the bad I had to post something about the good. My 910xt filled up with water - I figured I was screwed since it was a couple of years old and out of warranty. Best case was I saw some people were getting refurbished replacements which I would of been happy with. I take the watch to REI (where my wife bought it) they took one look at it and said no problem grab a new one if you want. I couldn't believe it, that type of service never happens.

If I was the one to get it, I would have found somewhere online that was probably 10 bucks cheaper. So I guess that may change my mind in the future on some purchases.

I always buy my Garmins at MEC in Canada because they have similar service. If something goes wrong they replace the unit, no questions asked, even if its out of warranty.

ETA-- I wouldn't give props to Garmin on this one-- only REI (and MEC).
