Sushi, Krystal Hamburgers and pbj's are what I crave after a good day of training. All this training has sent my appetite through the roof!

Nothing beats a "Double-Double" cheeseburger from In-&-Out. Unfortunately you can't find them anywhere other than the west coast. Was the topping to all of my long marathon training runs! Now that I am in New Orleans, it is Popeye's chicken or fresh cajun boiled crawfish! Of course, you could never go wrong with pizza. Mellow Mushroom, Atlanta Ga is the best!

PB&J, and oranges.

Best thing ever. But the InNOut in Atascadero after Wildflower is the best, DoubleDouble Animal style (Ohyeah)

Hmm during my long run yesterday I was craving a beer? Should I be worried?

Not really!
We all crave something while putting our body under such stress. I suppose whatever takes your fancy.
I often crave beer too, but only stick to the odd one now and again.

When I train later in the day I just LOVE a meal of 2 x poached eggs and a large serving of 'healthy' baked beans (eg low salt & sugar), often followed by a banana. I threw down a plate of that last night after my run - it goes down easy and you can make it in 6 mins after your session..........

Otherwise, I seem to eat a lot of yoghurt when I'm training. I get the Onken brand which gives a wholegrain fruit version (sounds weird but the grains in the yoghurt give it a great texture and reduce the GI considerably!).

I haven't had Onken yoghurt for years! I used to eats pints of it too. Didn't realise it had a low GI...Hmm, think I might have to pop round to the supermarket on the way home tonight to pick some up.

Otherwise I mostly just eat what I would normally have, but more of it after a heavy training session or race. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are good at any time.

pb & celery. yummy.

i also love burgers and fries, but we're doing them all at home now. ground beef from a local farmer we know, and the fries are baked, not fried. ends up being almost good for me!

While in heavy training it seems everything taste good. I am a big fan of Peanut butter, almost any pasta dish, pancakes, and I guess my favorite before bed snack would be cereal.
