I'll be there for the short course, using this one as a workout getting ready for next month. It's been a few years since I've actually raced the course out there (2010 I believe) so it should be a good change of scenery.

Hope to see you all out there. I looked at last years results and don't think I'll touch those numbers this year. Also aged up and think I will have some stiff competition. Hope we all stay safe

Doing the Sprint as a warmup for a race the following Saturday. Hopefully none of us crash into a mountain bike while going 40 mph down a hill!

I will be racing the long course at SMP. My expectations are very low since I'll be running the Psycho Wyco 50k trail race on Saturday. Signed up for the tri long ago, and I need the long trail miles for the Leadville 100 in a month, so will just see how the tri goes on Sunday.

Mike, you're an animal. I hope to someday do a 50k. Did the 10 mile physcho Wyco last winter and couldn't imagine doing that loop 3 times. Good luck

Well, long course has its advantages at least, first swim wave plus sweet transition spot right at bike entrance/exit.

Just a heads up, Renner Rd. is closed just north of 87th street (note, I haven't been to Shawnee Mission Park in a week or so, things may have changed, anyone with more recent information please chime in). If you are coming to the park from the south you will probably want to continue on 435 to Midland Dr. or take Lackman or something north to 79th street.

He's already qualified for this year. If he wins his AG, that will count for 2015.

For nationals- not going this year. I'll be in XC season and can't get away

For getting to the race-you will need to take the midland exit then take the hill up renner to theater in the park for parking.

Patrick-enjoy vacation.

Looking at the last wave of the day... Ugh. Here's to wading through traffic all day with no point of warming up.

This race has had its share of bad luck weather wise. Probably a blessing with a slick hilly course and a bunch of people with varying abilities on the bike. Could have been a disaster.

Not to be a spoil sport, but both of the years I've raced, scratch that, tried to race here it's been cancelled. I think it's me guys, I'm sorry.

I'll stay out of the park so you guys can race in the future.

Everytime I try to race SMP with my wife's friend Holly it gets rained out. sorry.

Then again I had to catch my bike from being knocked off the rack 3 times by newbie idiots.

I didn't say all newbies are idiots, I was once a newbie too, but I never ever knocked someone's bike off a transition rack, and if I would have, I would have caught the bike myself! These three guys didn't even say sorry. They acted like all of our bikes were in their way?

Hopefully my comment helps make every new triathlete more aware of how to live peacefully in transition with others!

Yeah it seems it would take a lot of apathy/distraction/disrespect to knock someone else's bike off the rack without noticing, or without apologizing. Even for a newbie...!

My very first race I spent too much time in T1 putting back someone's wetsuit that I accidentally knocked off the rack. Common courtesy and all that.
