Pre-race routine:

My very first triathlon, very excited and nervous. 2 egg whites, 2 energy bars, got to the race an hour ahead of time and got my setup done. Timing seemed to be good on that.

I could do better, but I was afraid to go out too fast. Can shave an extra couple of minutes.

Great job on your first tri! Your swim was awesome, AND without a wetsuit no less.

Got any pics of the tri scenery?  I grew up in Spokane, and really miss the CD'A beauty.

Yeah, bad joke.

Seriosly it was horrible to hear about. I guess 17 people dropped out because of that episode.

Tacks on the roadway.  I didn't hear that but suspected it when I heard one guy describe 'carnage on the bike course.'  He said he saw probably 25 flats.  Cripes.

Great first race. Congrats. The Olys are always more competitive than the sprints. You always get the guys in there that have been doing it a while so generally there aren't a lot of first-timers. Tough race to start with. Kudos.
