Subject: Bike Frame Art?
For two years I was diligent about putting a trash can in my parking spot in the grarage to remind me the bike was on top of the roof. A couple of weeks ago I picked up the bike from the shop at lunch and did some errands on the way home. Hit the garage door opener and "crunch". My beloved Giant was trashed! Luckily, no damage to the rack, my car roof, or garge(brick). The pictures below show the major damage and what is left of the frame after trimming the damage. So, any ideas for what to do with what is left? My buddy said put that on the garage floor when I load up! I am thinking about an electronic warning device I have seen.

I wish I could find the pictures of the frames that someone showed me before that were turned into lights.  I guess I that makes me worry about putting a roof rack on any vehicle now.  I was thinking of making a roof rack for my daughter and son-in-law's tandem, so we could all go on bike rides with just one vehicle and the other four bikes on one of our bike racks.  I can't afford to replace their tandem, so I am thinking they can drive separately.

Put an oval or rectangle piece of glass on top, add plexiglass base so it doesn't tip over and call it an end table.

That doesn't look too bad. You sure you can't just buff that out?

We are often asked the question, "What size frame should I buy" and the answer is “it depends”. I know that’s not the answer you want to hear, but hopefully the following will shed some more light.
