Today is the launch

I believe ever major cable company now has an agreement to carry it. Some you have to be subscribed to an extra Sports package, some you don't.

Not that I will be watching... I just happen to know way more about it than I should!

I haven't had cable or any of that stuff since about 1996.

I got Dish TV solely due to the SEC Network.

I only want to watch 12-15 Alabama games a year. Don't care about movies, don't care about the Klingon Aquarium Channel.

Right now I'm watching Alabama at Texas A&M as a matter of fact

Alabama vs. Aggie football has been on the few times I have stopped at the SEC Network while surfing through the channels.  Spoiler Alert:  Alabama doesn't always win.

It's included in the Comcast sports package that we added a couple of years ago in order to get the Big Ten Network.

My wife and I are Purdue grads and both our kids went to Florida, so now we've got both our schools covered.

I've enjoyed the Big Ten Network, not just for the football and basketball coverage, but also for the chance to watch the non-revenue sports like swimming, cross country, wrestling, volleyball, track & field, etc.  I'll be interested to see how the format of the SEC channel compares.

Is it included with the sports package or do you have to pay extra?

It might depend on where you live. I work for another cable company and in an "SEC" market it's included on the basic tier, but in all of our other markets you have to be subscribed to the Sports package. Might check here: http://uverse.com/uverse/secnetwork

I am down here in The Big 12 country with the Longhorn network. My son just went to Texas Tech. Lubbock is football crazy. And I am a graduate of that fine Powerhouse the real UK Kentucky, I want the SEC channel for basketball, I do not see it on cable in Austin.
I watched the Horns put it on the other K university at the Erwin Center in Austin, Wiggins and all. Would have been nice to watch in on cable.

Do you live in a Time Warner coverage area? You might have to subscribe to a separate tier but looks like they are carrying it in Austin.

This man’s story was so inspiring that my brother and I committed to doing an Ironman by the time we turned thirty.
