Pre-race routine:

standing around. loosening up my joints. ate bannana and 2 mini bagels
Event warmup:

walking .25 miles to start line from my tent.

Comments:

It was humind and hot. It was about 1/4 on payment 1/3 on grass and rest was on grave trail that was not very level. I wanted to get in 31 miles so I was not far off on my pace.
What would you do differently?:

I would go with 2 water bottle or my camel bak. I was running out of water on loop 6,7,8,9 by 1.86 mile water spot and there was no real way to refill the water bottle at the water spot. water spout on the course near the end of the loop was really nasty. Gators are also a must to keep out the gravel in the shoe

Warm down:

walked 1 out and back. took it slow even though I could have gotten 2 of them if I pushed it I took the out and back really slow.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

heat. it was very hot for a guy of my size

Event comments:

lots of beer, fun and prizes at the end. missed the all night party because my ride was leaving but it was very fun.

Great job!! My husband did this race; he said it was a great event. He wants me to go do it with him next year.
