I feel like an absolute slug these days, but did 2.2 miles running with the 11 year old. Got to get back into the training habit!! Off season is going to be a challenge!

Sounds like an awesome run Kim. I heading to my very first ever Yoga session in a few minutes. My wife has been telling me for years that it might be helpful for my aching back among other things. My back is what generally limits my cycling more than anything else. Since she is usually right, I'm expecting to see some improvement over time if I stick with the Yoga. Since I started doing some cycling specific stretching a few months ago there has been some improvement already. Later in the afternoon hope to do some long, hard bike intervals with a mini 6.75mi TT thrown in the middle followed by a nice warm down. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!

Long run this morning.

Started out at La Costa and ran down to the beach and then up the coast to Buccaneer Beach where I did a quick swim then ran back. (20 mile run, 1000 meter swim)

Run felt strong and I did the last 4 miles at marathon pace.

Probably consider today a rest day.
Was going to go back out on the bike again, but was pretty tired from yesterday's effort.

Took the family up to Snowbowl Ski Resort in Flagstaff - and spent 4 hours over 9,500 ft with a trip up to the top at 11,200ft elevation.
Needless to say with all the walking around, wind, sun and altitude, we were all pretty beat! Just gorgeous and not a cloud in the sky - I love living in Arizona!

So happy tomorrow is another day of vacation! Enjoy it everyone!

Had my first triathlon race today (oly turned sprint due to flooding). Gave it my all and finished sub-1:30! I have room for improvement and look forward to working on it over the winter. This site has been very valuable in my preparation/training; thanks for all of the tips everyone!

Congrats on the race! I've had part of a race snowed out before, but never been flooded out. Nothing amazing here--90 minute trainer ride and 35 minute run, followed by very long brunch with some buddies at a posh place downtown. Sure I put those calories back in and then some!

Yesrerday's plan was to do my weekly long run but I ended up going up on the flight deck of the ship I'm on and doing a sprint relay with some of the other guys. Half mile warm up then 3 man sprint relay with each of us doing 200, 400, 600, 800, 600, 400, 200. It was well over 100 degrees again so we were pretty spent after that. Later at night I did about 45 minutes on the bike with some hard/very hard intervals.

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
