Comments:

After running hard at the Hartford marathon yesterday I took this one easy and ran with my wife the whole way. We had a good time. It's fun to do a race with her from time to time.

Event comments:

This really is a small town race so not a lot of fanfare or bells and whistles but it was very well done. They had beer and pizza at the finish line, the volunteers were all great, the course was nice. I would definitely recommend this one for 50 staters looking to pick up Rhode Island.

Performance: Good
Course: The course was filled with gently rolling hills, which was kind of a surprise. There is a long flat out and back section between miles 15 and 18 and then a long climb between mile 18 and about 20.5 but the rest of the course rolls. It's a beautiful course through the wealthy part of Newport for the first half and then mostly through beach and nature preserve areas during the second half.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.
