Subject: No data from Garmin Edge510 on indoor trainer (?)
With the cold weather I moved my tribike inside onto my trainer. With my first 510-trainer ride, my 510 would only show cadence data (?). No elapsed time, no Powermeter readings, etc. I turned off the GPS hoping the 510 would see 'forward movement' via the rear wheel sensor and/or my PowerTap G3 power meter. No luck. Would appreciate some help. If I am going to effectively using my 510 + trainer this winter, I need the full suite of data : Power, cadence, elapsed time, distance (calculated) and speed (calculated). This was possible with my Edge500 (which I traded in and upgrade this summer). Welcome any ideas / suggestions. Thanks.

Do you see the Powermeter as paired/detected. Can you calibrate it ?

No elapsed time ? bizarre. Could it be auto-pause is on ? If you aren't getting speed of course it will thing it's stopped so will autopause. This would explain no elapsed time.

The old powertaps, speed and cadence used to come from the powermeter.

Do you have other speed/cadence sensors ?

Everything is paired correctly and the devise works fine outside. I think my 510 does not see any movement via GPS and hence switches to auto-pause (?). I thought turning off the GPS would fix that issue. Since that did not work I might try turning off the GPS and the auto-pause feature. Welcome any other ideas.

I don't have a 510 so I can't try but other Garmins like the 910 have a setting to enable Ant+ speed/cadence.
I would check if that is enabled and I would disable autopause.
