What will the water temperature be like. It looks like it is still around 80 degrees. I've heard there are plenty of Jelly Fish. Anyone have any updates on water conditions?

Yep. We were 1 hour from boarding our flight out. Sure wish I had a travel agent!

There was a guy at IM Lake Tahoe that kept his bracelet on from the 2014 race that was cancelled and only removed it when he got his new bracelet at this year's athlete check-in. Keep it on.

I'll keep it on until the next update, at least.

I was a member of this FB group but last week the updates mysteriously stopped and now the group doesn't show up in my list of groups. All my posts to the group have been deleted from my activity feed and the link above returns a "not found" error. Any idea if the group is still active? Any idea what would have caused it to drop off my feed? It's not like I was banned or something like that.

It sounds like the problem is on your end.  It works fine for me.

OK - I'm in for IM#2....Does anyone have any suggestions for where to stay? Here is my plan. My training partner and I want to stay within walking distance of the venue on Thursday and Friday. Then he is going to stay in that room a third night and I'm going to spend the night with my family who is coming down on race day. So, I'm looking for a barebones kind of place close to the venue for Thursday and Friday and a place within a short drive for race night. They are gonna have to pry me out of that car.

If the venue remains the same, I'd suggest renting a room somewhere between the transition area and Ironman village/finish line with you and the family. This year we stayed at the Chesapeake something or other (host hotel?) about 5 miles away and getting to/from was fine pre race, but required a shuttle bus on race day. Shuttling is a PIA after the race with a bike and all your gear when you just want to get to just go lie down. Host hotel was nice, but high $.

to all the IM Maryland racers, how was the swim? Was the water mostly salt water and was visibility poor? Also choppy? I have been swimming in the ocean recently and the salt water really dries you out after a few minutes. Thanks

I'm in! So, last year I did Louisville for my third and before I left for work my co worker says " I don't know where you are going this wknd, but I'm sure its going to be some God Awful endurance event!" I just snickered and walked out the door. Plan on keeping it a secret again at work again ( I think). That was tough

hmmm, I just went back and see this was a thread from 2015. Is there a new one for 2016?

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
