What would you do differently?:

not sprain my ankle on the course....but aside from that, avoiding gout issues that prevented me from doing 2 long runs (had to stop running for 2 weeks at peak build)
Post race
Warm down:

fight cramps and hobble to exit and get the ponchos before I freeze to death

What limited your ability to perform faster:

spraining my ankle, missing 2 long runs about a month prior to the race.

Event comments:

Largest Marathon in the world - set the record this year!

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.

The ONLY way to compete in my first triathlon was to do it on my BMX. I’m no professional—nor do I aspire to be one, I just want to be fit and healthy.

One of my fears, besides the radioactive material content of the Hudson River, was the water temperature. I found the water was much warmer as I inched closer to the holding dock.
