Subject: body glide and wet suits
I've rented a wet suit for this Sunday's tri to avoid the 60 degree Lake Michigan water. I've practiced taking it off several times after swimming and was wondering where the best places to use body glide is. I've noticed it's trickiest to get off around the ankles and feet. Any advice from seasoned vets?

Thanks.

Once you pull it all the way down your body and it remains only around your ankles, stand on the wetsuit with one foot, and then pull the other foot out. Then switch. That seems to work for me and it makes for a fairly quick transition as I don't have to sit on the the ground to pull it off.

I hope that helps. Good luck!!

Definitely BG around your ankles. For chafing you might want to put some around your neck where the collar will rub.  If a sleeveless, you might put some around your armpits/sides where it might rub.

Good luck!

Spray PAM around the ankles and on the OUTSIDE of the suit from the knees down. And if it's a full suit, do the same from the elbows down on the sleeves.

Bodyglide is for chafing (neck, around arm holes). PAM eases doffing the suit.

Just curious.  How does the PAM on the outside of the suit help removing the suit?

I am not a big fan of stepping on my wetsuit while it is around my ankles...I paid a lot of money for that wetsuit and I would be very afraid to rip it a nice hole somewhere on the suit after I did that...but to each their own....I should probably do that too...but the precious seconds I save won't help this average mid-packer...

Good post...I've always wondered where to apply that body glide as well.

When you peel that suit off, which side of the suit is sliding against your skin as it goes over your feet and hands? The OUTSIDE of the suit... Thus, the PAM.
