I started from absolute scratch this year so my numbers are small.  Still, putting it this way is a great way to quantify my progress.  Just wish I'd run another 0.13 mi. to make it a round 300!

  • Swim:  32.76 Mi.
  • Bike:    640.07 Mi
  • Run:    299.87 Mi

My highest bike mileage year even though mileage was cut short by two crash related injuries. Injuries especially cut short the swim and run totals. But I PR'd my OLY and HIM races so a good year for me.

Most of those bike miles are on the trainer so the paces/mileage are way off but the time is accurate.

Blasted through the 1k mile mark this year which was a goal of mine. Also broke the 12hr IM mark which was something I didn't think possible.

Annual Training Totals:

Swim: 72h 35m 40s - 240,600 Meters
Bike: 145h 31m 02s - 2,710.8 Miles
Run: 486h 34m 40s - 3,812.22 Miles

...

Total:  704h 41m 22s

What I got for all of that training: A Personal Best at the Full and Half Marathon in addition to breaking 90 minutes for the first time in the half, a Boston Qualifier for 2016. (Streak now Boston Qualified 8 years in a row)

Best of all, a 1st Place AG finish in the half, a 2nd and 3rd place AG finish in the Full Marathon. At 48, I seem to be in the best shape of my life and positioned well to kick some in 2015.

I focused on running more in 2014 and staying injury free and I succeeded! I also biked more than 2013 but swam a bit less. This is is gonna be a bigger year overall since I'm gonna train up to my first Ironman at IMAZ!!! :D

This was a pretty good year for me and was more run focused especially the last two months.  Had over 40 (I'm 53) PR's at 5k, 10k, HM, and Marathon.  Really looking forward to 2015 and building my cycling so I can take advantage of my running gains.  Goals for 2015: 200k swim, 2500 bike, 1500 run.

Swim: 129161 yards
Bike: 2101 miles
Run:  1543 miles

Run: 182:24:19 - 2,170.00 Kilometers - 5:02/KM

Total: 271:31:50

As you can see I focused way more on running this year.  I managed to PR my 1K, 1Mi, 5K, 10K, & full marathon times. Plus I finished my first full Ironman.

For 2015 I plan on putting in a lot more time on the bike, also to again PR my 5K, 10K, & full marathon times.

75 miles swam
2875 mile cycled
935 miles ran

I netted a pretty significant HIM PR, a small marathon PR, finally finished a sprint in under 90 mins, got the closest to my old HM PR I have in years (37 seconds off), and got my first AG placement in a triathlon!

This year, I'd like to up the volume just a little bit in all 3 sports (100, 3k, and 1k seem about right to me) and continue to work on getting faster and loving the process as much as I do now!

A slow-healing calf injury kept me from doing as much running as I should. It's healed now, so should crank up those miles in 2015.

For once I met all my training goals. Biking was a bit down to the wire--figured I had it all wrapped up as I was on a bike tour in Sri Lanka but we had horrible weather and landslides for the first 8 days and mileage wasn't what I'd hoped. Still had an hour plus to go on December 31 but made it and then continued for another 5+ hours on an epic ride! Racing didn't go that well last year due to random illness and injuries so hope I have a good base for next year!

Pretty good year. Compared to 2013: Swim about the same yardage. Few hundred more miles on the bike. Run was down from 2013 due to losing a few months early in 2014 to nagging injury. Made an effort to try and get in some consistent strength training in 2014. Raced 11 times.

Swim                           143h 25m                     470,150 yards

Bike                             257h 51m                     5357.17 miles

Run                              108h 15m                     783.68 miles

Strength                         27h 5m

Not a great year for me (especially running) but did get 1st place Grandmaster at a sprint.  My HIM on the other hand didn't go as well.

Completed two IM races in 2015 and took a much needed break in Nov and Dec. Only had a few work outs in order to take a break and recharge the batteries. January is here and now back at for 2015.
