Hi,
As some of you know this is my first year racing and most of my training is done up at work in the gym. I was just wondering what music/videos you guys listen/watch when you are in the gym for long hours? so how about everybody put down your favourites, weather its one song or a whole bunch of videos I will give them a listen/watch. I'm just starting a 23 day shift and would love some fresh beats/video in the gym

for runs I like beautiful things by andain

cake going the distance

till i collapse triathlon video

For bikes I like to set up my computer and watch cycle races. I sprint when they sprint, I attack when they do, I climb right along side them, and I put out harder when the breakaway is on screen I know its not a proper work out but its fun. with the tour coming up soon I see some two hour training rides on the spin bike coming up :-)

So give me your best. Even if you think I wont like it just try me!

Not a bad thread at 1am. As a 35 year old, father of 2 boys (5.5 & 3), I find that I need a good rythem/beat to keep me going during long workouts. I don't watch videos during my bike workouts because they distract me. I religiously follow my Trainer Road workouts (check it out if you haven't already) and stream pandora during my bike and run workouts.

Genre of music is either Metal (usually Metallica, Megdeth, Type O Negative, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, etc) or, the complete opposite of that: Pop and Techno. Not sure how I got into Pop, but it happened. Techno is really easy to get into the rythem during a Run/bike. If you don't have a cadence sensor on your bike, I highly recommend it. Techno artists are generally more upbeat: Nightcore, Basshunter, DJ Encore, Velvet, amongst a few others.

Hope you find your groove.

On the bike trainer I like Sufferfest videos, they're a great combination of music, bike race footage, story line, and butt-kicking workouts that make the time fly and beat me to a pulp.

On the run I usually like pretty chill pop electro rock stuff like Silversun Pickups, MGMT, Radiohead, Muse, etc and just let Pandora build a station around that stuff that I can kind of space out to.

Three AC/DC Songs that get me pumped when I'm starting to fade
1. Highway to Hell (love this for climbing on the bike)
2. Thunderstruck
3. Shoot to Thrill
