Subject: Beet Juice?
OK, I know the benefits, but how do you stomach this stuff? Especially in the amounts they say you should drink, about 17 ozs a day. I feel like I am going to upchuck the rest of the day. Anyone have tricks to using Beet Juice? Also, the benefits seem to be from the Nitrates and Nitrites, Raw Spinach seems to have almost twice the amount as beets, so can one get the same benefits from spinach, which is a lot easier to get down and keep it there.

Add a couple ounces of something more acidic - like pomegranate juice or whatever you like.  Then it tastes ok.  By itself it's terribly bland.

I simply substituted the "T" for an "R" and havent had any issues since. 3 of the 4 letters are the same so I am sure I am getting at least 75% of the effectiveness.

Rhubarb is chock full of nitrates too - we have a patch in the backyard and I add a few stalks into my smoothies.

I've mixed beet juice in with my oatmeal on race morning. Not delicious, but palatable.
