Any natives have ideas on hotels for IM MD? Every hotel i've looked at is booked solid for the race weekend, didn't realize that it'd be this hard to get a room.
They have the same problem for Eagleman, too. There aren't a ton of hotels on the MD Eastern Shore. There are a few in Easton (25 minutes away), Salisbury (35 minutes away). If they're all booked you can head to Annapolis (60 minutes), Seaford, DE (50-ish minutes) or Ocean City (70 minutes-ish). There are a couple of B&Bs in Cambridge, but there are more in the more popular tourist towns like Oxford or St. Michaels. Hope this helps...good luck in the Ironman. I'll be doing a sprint up the road that weekend in Rock Hall.
I am racing in Maryland and a few days ago there were still some room at a couple of the Choice hotels in Easton (Quality Inn, Econo Lodge). Easton is about 15 miles outside of Cambridge. I was staying at the Econo Lodge until I lucked out and found someone renting one of their rooms on airbnb right by the transition area.
Nothing to add that hasn't already been said but good luck to all of those racing in Ironman Maryland! I just started my training this week with the goal of racing in Ironman Maryland 70.3 in 2018!
Iron distance racing depends on the three pillars of pacing, nutrition and mental outlook. Training these three areas can significantly improve your race.
I will be 20 this summer and am planning on doing Ironman Montreal. This will be my first year of triathlon, can I do this and stay away from injuries?
During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
