Is lodging difficult to find near the venue? Looking for something near 125/150 a night. I'm debating on this or IMMD and know MD is not very good.

Several good downtown hotels within walking distance of the transition area. They may sell out quickly though.

You're not going to find anything close to the venue for that price. But you can if you don't mind driving in from 5 or 10 miles away. I was there this weekend and finding parking wasn't an issue. They have plenty of parking with in a 5 to 10 minute walk or closer.

There are great hotels within a few blocks of T1/T2 but might be hard to find at that price.  But, an extra 5-10 minute drive and you should be set.

I stayed at the Choo Choo last year and paid right in that range.  The other benefit is that the transit center is right next door so a bunch of us used that on race morning, it was pretty easy.  the rest of the time there I just drove down to the race site and never had an issue parking within a couple blocks and never once had to pay in a lot (i.e. pay $15 flat fee for a 20 minute trip to drop my bike off), I found street parking every time.

I just reserved the Choo Choo for 2016 after also using it in 2014. Rate was $165/night.

Keep in mind that the electric bus transit on race day works great getting to transition, but after the race they won't let you bring your bike on the bus. I had to ride mine back to the hotel (so I guess you could say I raced 146.2).

Good point on the bike for the return trip.  I just walked back up, I had  enough after the 144.6!
