Hello there, 57 year old , overweight couch potato who decided to take up running after 10 years of inactivity. Loved it and thought "I would like to try triathlon" so here I am first duathlon ( a tiny one for newbies) booked in 5 weeks time and looking for sprint in March. No longer feel like I am drowning after 200m and thinking how to increase pace on bike and running.
Motivated by the time I can put into training and the goals the sport gives me. Aim for first triathlon is to finish with a smile on my face ??

Good for you! Yes, aiming to cross the finish line with a smile is a perfect goal. My first tri was a 200m swim, 5k bike and 3k run and let me tell you I felt like I had won an Olympic medal when I crossed the finish line! Best feeling ever!

Just Remember That It Is ALL About Building A Base. Start Slow & Relaxed While Training This Winter AND THEN Start Focusing On Races, Adding Milage, etc

Cheers

After eight long months of training, I’ve finally completed my first ever triathlon and it just so happened to be one of the biggest and toughest events known to the triathlon community, Ironman.
