Took a year out of tri's and just ran. Just finished Pikes Peak Marathon and my old knees said enough is enough so going to taper off the knee pounding and work on improving overall conditioning (cross training) and dedicate 2007 to tri activities. Look forward to the comraderie (sp?), encouragement, and advice.

Pike's Peak Marathon....I think I just read about that in Runner's World.  Whew...what a race.  Congrats on doing it and good luck with your new conditioning plan :-

Welcome back!  Congrats on Pikes Peak, that sounds like a tough run.   I don't necessarily love swimming, but I love going swimming after long run days because I can sit in hot tub for a while and soak the legs.

Welcome to BT.  A year off and you run Pike's Peak!  Wow, what a way to take the year off from SBR!   I also read about Pike's Peak in one of the last couple of Runner's World that showed up on my doorstep.  Sounds like a grueling run with runners ending up bleeding and everything.

Wow, Pike's Peak; what a great race. I've hiked it; don't think I would enjoy running up it. As one who also has old knees I understand the need for cross training. Welcome back.
