Total Time = 20m 47s
Overall Rank = 20/583
Age Group = M50-54
Age Group Rank = 1/21
Pre-race routine:

PB and honey, coffee, figuring out how many layers to wear and be warm. Just needed a base layer and long sleeve running shirt.
Event warmup:

An easy 1.5 mile trot to the start and chatting with friends. The start was about a mile farther away than I thought, so we had more of a warm-up run than I planned.

Comments:

I expected an easy run with Boo Boo. Today, no. She knew the drill, and despite starting way back with other dogs and slower runners, at the start, she was at the end of the leash weaving through the crowd for the first mile or two, and was at 6:30 for some 1/2 mile splits. She out-ran me pulling the leash to my and her PR's. It felt easy at the end, so we're both in good shape. We took the day off yesterday, so I suspect Boo had extra power in the tank.

Here are the results
Post race
Warm down:

Chocolate milk and cookies!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much. If I had known the little dog would be at the end of the leash, I would have gone faster the first mile.

Event comments:

Molly does a great job as RD. Things work, and she has wonderful courses.

In November of 2000, I noticed that I was losing the feeling in my toes. The sensation traveled up my body and within a week, I was nearly 80% paralyzed.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had weight issues. I remember standing on the scale as a child weighing 60 pounds and feeling fat. My family dealt with stress by eating.
